Recommended Types of Plastic Packaging for Your Snacks

1. Polypropylene, or PP plastic

PP plastic is one of the types of plastic packaging for light snacks. This plastic is characterized by being somewhat rigid and less prone to becoming brittle compared to other types of plastic.

Most PP plastics are not made transparent like PET plastic, but they are light-transmitting, hazy, or produced in different colors.

Our PP plastic is also marked with a recycling
symbol with the number 5, indicating that it can be used repeatedly. This is
because PP can serve as a barrier to moisture, oils, and chemicals, making it
safe for reuse.

2. Standing Pouch

Another type of plastic packaging for light snacks that you can use is the standing pouch.

This plastic packaging can come in various colors and sizes. Usually, most of our clients order in a clear format. As the name suggests, this type of plastic packaging can stand upright, making it suitable for product displays compared to flat plastics.

3. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

The next type of plastic packaging for light snacks is high-density polyethylene or HDPE.
HDPE is a rigid, opaque, lightweight, and strong plastic. It is widely used as food packaging. Because HDPE is not very flexible, it can maintain its shape well compared to other plastics. HDPE plastic is commonly used in food packaging for juice and milk bottles, butter squeeze bottles, vinegar, chocolate syrup containers, cereal boxes, and shopping bags. This type of plastic is marked with a recycling symbol with the number 2, indicating that it is one of the most frequently recycled plastics and considered one of the safest plastic forms. However, HDPE plastic should only be used once for food and beverages. In addition to being used for food and beverage packaging.

4. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

This type of plastic packaging for light snacks is polyvinyl chloride or PVC. In addition to being used as food packaging, PVC plastic is also used for containers for cooking oil, medications, and more. PVC is an inexpensive and highly versatile thermoplastic. It is typically divided into two types: rigid PVC and more flexible PVC.
This type of packaging plastic has a rigid plastic construction, is biologically and chemically resistant, has good dimensional stability, is oxygen permeable, and can serve as a barrier for oils and fats. PVC plastic can be made in either transparent or opaque clear colors. Furthermore, PVC can be molded into various types of packaging, such as water and juice bottles, or other packaging. PVC packaging usually bears a triangular recycling symbol with the number 3, which means it should not be reused as food packaging or used for children.

5. Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)

The next type of plastic packaging for light snacks is polyethylene terephthalate, better known as PET plastic. PET is a high-performance, clear thermoplastic that offers excellent protection, low water absorption, and very good dimensional stability at various temperatures. Commonly, this plastic is used for plastic bottles for carbonated beverages, soft drinks, sports drinks, single-serving water, ketchup, salad dressing, vitamins, vegetable oil bottles, light snack packaging, peanut butter jars, and more. This lightweight plastic can be made into rigid or semi-rigid packaging, making it more resistant to impact and helping to protect the food or liquid inside the packaging. PET is marked with a recycling symbol with the number 1, indicating that it should be used for single-use only and should not be reused as a container for drinks or food. This is because repeated use increases the risk of washing and bacterial growth.
